Governor Recognizes Elm Plating Company as Clean Corporate Citizen

The Clean Corporate Citizen (C3) program, established under Administrative Rules R324.1501 to R324.1511, allows regulated establishments that have demonstrated environmental stewardship and a strong environmental ethic through their operations in Michigan to be recognized as Clean Corporate Citizens. Elm Plating Company-Plant 1 has become the 64th facility to receive the honor.

Elm Approved as ZinKlad 96 & 250 Applicator

MacDermid's ZinKlad 96 & 250 is now an approved Hex free Trivalent Chromate application. ZinKlad, using Tripass ELV 1000,2000 or Chromax ELV and Torque "N" Tension 15 has replaced JS500/JS600. As a ZinKlad approved Applicator, Elm Plating can process parts that meet or exceed the following specifications.

Elm Receives MDEQ Grant

Elm Plating received a $25,000 grant from the State of Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) for the Michigan Metal Finishing Pollution Prevention Initiative (MFP2I) Technology Demonstration grant program. Elm Plating Company will demonstrate a Trivalent Chromium Process to replace the current Hexavalent Chromium Process which will reduce the amount of chemicals used to treat the waste streams, and the possibility of toxicity introduced by the use of hexavalent chromium and the environmental repercussions of the processes.

Elm Installs New Waste Treatment System

Elm Plating has installed a state of the art micro filtration waste treatment system that will allow Elm not only to meet & exceed the current EPA guidelines but also meet & exceed the proposed MP& M limits.

Elm Introduces Real -Time Customer Part Information Access

Elm Plating has developed a web page for customers to access their part information. This password protected feature is live and updated upon each posting. Customers can view parts by each part number, lot number, or even view all current parts in-house. The online information page includes all current day production from raw part information, parts in process, and completed parts ready for shipping. This convenient feature is available to all Elm Plating customers as an added benefit.
